Hot flash
...we're having dinner tonight in the Beurs. We call it that... I don't know why. We had fun and the food was good. It was really good, you know. I laughed a lot. They played that old stuff .... Beatles, Bee-gees, Doors, Rolling Stones and very much Boudewijn de Groot. Our friend doesn’t understand a word of it but he likes it. I have to think about the these days when I was young and this music came for the first time in to my ears.
They had the airco on.... It was blowing in to our ....... how do you call that thing in English? Neck
I don't know, but it was one big chill in the neck.
So they stopped the airco and we had something to drink and eat a nice piece of salmon covered up with some dillesaus. Men, it was really nice... but also getting a little warmer.... no airco remember.
Then it happened.
I said, 'It's getting hot out here!'
How do you call that in English?
'Upflyer'
Ik kwam niet meer bij.
'Upflyer'......
And than he said… it’s a ‘hot flash’.
And I like it better than a upflyer or some opvlieger
The airco was even better though……………

@ Assepoes..... soort van super opvlieger of eentje die je twee keer beleefd.....
Misschien hebben ze hier nog een beter idee. Zit toch al de hele week tussen de Engels en Nederlandse man

An Upflyer? Great translation.... I have to remember that one.

That's a nice word for it indeed! However, you could easily interpret it as "Hot Flesh" and that might be something totally different ;-)
